Your homework for the next three weeks is to complete independent learning on the poems in the Power and Conflict anthology.For each poem you are expected to do three tasks:
- Answer the questions on the poem in the workbook you have been given.
- Using the information in your workbook and the videos linked to on this website, thoroughly annotate the copy of the poem in your anthology.
- Create a revision resource for at least five killer quotations from the poem (your choice of Quizlet, notebook, index cards, mind map or flip card).
The poems you need to cover are:
- My Last Duchess
- London
- Tje Prelude (Stealing the Boat)
- Exposure
- Remains
- Bayonet Charge
- The Emigree
- Kamikaze.
It does not matter what order you do them in – we will be covering them all in class but you are encouraged to learn about each poem in advance of the lesson as it will help you extend your knowledge. Remember, this homework is addition to the 10 minutes a day that you should spend memorising quotations.
